I'm Not Normal
I'm not normal. And I don't want to be. When I hear the word normal, I think of words like so-so, average, mediocre, ordinary, and par. In school, anyone considered abnormal is shipped off to special eds and hopped up on medication.
I don't want that. People like Walt Disney, Albert Einstein, Dr. Seuss, Kevin Clash, and Shigeru Miyamoto are hardly what anyone would call normal.
I want to be like them. People who think outside the box, who come up with ideas no one's ever tried before. People who take the 1-in-a-million risks and strike gold.
It's not easy. Innovation can be difficult, and everyone, even people I know, will and have told me that I can't do it. It would be far easier to just put my head down and stay quiet.
But I won't.
Because I'm Jordan Edwards. And I am extraordinary.
